The findings of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission:
An estimated 150,000 children were forced to attend residential schools. More than 6,000 of those children died in the residential schools. The odds of students dying in the residential school was higher than the odds of Canadians dying fighting in WWII. There were 31,970 sexual or serious sexual assault cases resolved by independent assessment process and 5,995 claims still in progress as of the report release. -- Wikipedia.
